Strong VW Employee Spotlight: Chip Bryson

Getting to know customers by name is just a small part of the service Chip Bryson provides as part of his job as assistant service manager/service advisor at Strong Volkswagen. Chip joined Strong VW in 2002 after a stint as service manager for a BMW Motorcycle dealer.  He believes treating customers right is the reason he recently received the Gold Guild Service Award from Volkswagen of America.  Take a look at a couple of reviews from customers who recognize Chip’s commitment to quality service.

“The main reason I buy VW's is because I know Strong VW is going to service them. In almost 10 years, I’ve never had a bad experience there. I bought 4 cars from them already, 2 brand new and 2 pre-certified and they are great from sales to service. Every time I have a concern, Chip Bryson in service has it fixed. He understands and translates the owner’s questions into Mechanic’s language perfectly! Luigi 11/11

“I bought a 1996 Jetta several years ago from Strong and since then Chip has been providing me with great service. I have never had a problem getting a fast appointment that works with my work schedule and the shuttle is great if I don’t have time to wait. My car has ALWAYS been done on time and on budget and they have gone out of their way to get things covered for me.  One part is no longer in production... they fabricated it for me. That is dedication. I have no hesitation in passing this very well loved car (160000 miles now) down to my girls for their first car. I recommend Chip and his techs to everyone, they are awesome! He will take care of you. He calls and updates me if there are ever any problems and my car is always clean when I come and get it.” Rachel  2/10

Away from the dealership Chip likes to ride motorcycles, builds custom bikes and works with his family training their rescue dog, Riker.

Volkswagen: Showing off at the Detroit Auto Show

The Detroit Auto Show just wrapped up last week and Volkswagen was there. In addition to the new 2012 Beetle, two Beetle concept cars were displayed, the E-Bugster and the Fender Beetle.  Also on display was a hybrid version of the Jetta compact sedan. The E-Bugster and Jetta are highly fuel efficient vehicles, demonstrating Volkswagen’s response for the growing demand for low fuel consumption cars.
The E-Bugster is an all-electric, lithium ion battery run Beetle that is free of emissions. A two-seater with larger wheels than the 2012 Beetle, this car has can move at 114 Horsepower for up to 100 miles!

The hybrid Jetta will go on sale later in 2012 with a turbocharged gasoline engine and electric motor, said to use 20% less fuel.  The new Jetta will get about 45 miles per gallon with plenty of power, going from zero to 60 mph in just over 8 seconds. In Detroit, Volkswagen once again demonstrated the cutting-edge engineering and design technology that propelled them to one of the leading automobile brands in the world. Strong Volkswagen looks forward to offer the new Jetta later this year.

Strong VW Salutes America’s Veterans

Strong Volkswagen would like to join folks all across the nation is honoring our service veterans this Veteran’s Day.  We are proud of our fathers and grandfathers who fought for our freedom in World Wars I and II.  Those valiant veterans from the Korean War and Viet Nam fought against tyranny in support of freedom.  And to our brave sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, mothers, fathers and friends and more who have or are currently involved in conflicts in the Middle East, to you we offer our humble thanks and appreciation.

Veteran’s Day was proclaimed as November 11 by President Wilson in 1919 in honor of the one year anniversary of Armistice Day, the day fighting in World War I ceased. The recognition at that time was specifically for those who died in the service of the country in World War I.

Throughout the years, the Act creating Veteran’s Day has been revised a number of times so that today it is broadly regarded as a day to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of American freedom as well as those who served or are serving their country in any one of the branches of the military. The 5 branches include the Air Force, the Navy, the Marines, the Army and the Coast Guard.

Often accompanied by parades and other celebrations including the laying of the wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery, Veterans Day is a federal holiday. We at Strong VW salute America’s veterans and wish you a day of peace and pride in the service you provided along with a prayer for those who have perished.

Strong Volkswagen Makes Winterizing Your Car Easy

Winter is fast approaching in Utah, bringing along with it harsh cold temperatures. Before winter arrives, it’s time to make sure your vehicle is in good running order. Strong Volkswagen just kicked off their free winter inspections and they are also offering discounts on scheduled maintenance visits to help you make sure your car is safe and performing well.

Winterizing your care involves several components:

  • Oil: Make sure you have the right oil for cold temperatures.  If it is too thick, your engine is not able to stay lubricated.
  • Battery: Have your battery inspected to insure that the posts and connections are free of corrosion and that it has sufficient water.
  • Wipers: It’s easy to forget the importance of windshield wipers until you really need them. Is it time to replace your blades for the winter?
  • Antifreeze: When you have your car serviced, Strong Volkswagen will check the mixture of your antifreeze and make needed adjustments.
  • Belts and Hoses: No worries here when you have your car serviced at Strong VW.  We check hoses and belts as part of our routine maintenance.
  • Tires: Decreases in temperature have a profound impact on tire pressure. Make sure you check your tire pressure regularly and have your tires inspected for appropriate tread levels. You may even want to consider snow tires.

Right now, Strong Volkswagen is offering a winter special to make sure you have the best tires for the season. When you buy three tires at the regular price, you receive the fourth tire for just $1.00!
You can schedule your service at Strong VW today online. Simply click here.
