Introducing: The Fabulous 2012 Volkswagen Passat TDI®

Ready, set, go, and go and go! Strong Volkswagen will be rolling out the much acclaimed 2012 Passat TDI ®later this month with its remarkable 43 highway mpg. The in-town 31 mpg gives it a combined EPA rating of 35 mpg, putting the Passat well ahead of its competition. For a mid-sized sedan, this clean diesel vehicle’s mileage, performance, and design can’t be beat. And the thing that really sets the Passat TDI® apart is its drivability; it is simply a pleasure to get behind the wheel!

With VW’s fabulous 2.0 liter, turbodiesel four-cylinder diesel engine, the Passat TDI® also boasts a six-speed manual or a six speed dual-clutch transmission, 17-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats and a touchscreen radio. Other standard features include automatic climate control, power windows, cruise control, outside temperature display with frost warning, radio-CD system (MP3-capable) and Bluetooth connectivity.

The Passat TDI® doesn’t scrimp on comfort or safety.  The interior is not only visually appealing, but also spacious, with an extra large rear-seat and more leg space for passengers. Safety features include Volkswagen’s Intelligent Crash Response System, which is automatically initiated in a collision: shutting off the fuel supply and high consumption electronic equipment, unlocking doors, disconnecting the battery terminal from the alternator cable, and turning on the hazard lights. The six airbags and firm body structure are designed to protect the driver and passengers.

Designed in Germany specifically for the U.S. market, the high performance Passat TDI® is 100% American made at Volkswagen’s new $5 billion plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Included in this unparalleled package is the three year/36,000 mile Carefree Maintenance program.
